Diaper Wreath Instructions

Diaper Wreath makes a great #baby shower gift

Hopefully these easy to follow diaper wreath instructions will help you get started.

Diaper wreaths are fun and easy to make.

No two are alike, each will be unique according to the items and colors you choose to decorate your wreath with …endless possibilities.

Wreath Supplies:

  • Wreath form you can use any form I used a wire wreath form. Light and easy to tie onto (NO PINS)
  • 1 package of size 1 or 2 diapers. ( I used size 2 in this wreath)
  • Small Curing ribbon to tie on diapers
  • 4 yards of wide ribbon to make a bow
  • Items to decorate I used 2 bibs, two sets of socks, cross plaque from Wal-Mart, small plastic blocks and pins from the Dollar Store.

Start by tying on each diaper to the wreath form with the thin curling ribbon or ribbon of choice, and add whatever decoration you have chosen and curl the ribbon.

I am using some decorative plastic diaper pins and blocks I picked up from the Dollar Store for $1 /10 to a box. I tied them alternating colors and pin,  block, pin, block.

You can use anything you want and you do not need to do one on each diaper. This is where the unique and creative ideas come from.

Continue all the way around the wreath adding diapers. You will want to keep them snug together so you do not see the wire wreath form between the diapers.

My wreath took 22 diapers. The number will vary depending on the size of your wreath form, size of your diapers.

Then I made a bow and tied it to the top, and hung the cross plaque under the bow.

Next add your decorations I made my socks to look like flowers by pocking the toe into the sock and then ties onto the wire wreath form between the diapers.

The sky is the limit on how to decorate. You may want to find out the theme the mother is planning to use for the nursery. All pink, all blue, Winnie the Pooh, black, white & red, jungle theme, and then find decorations to go with each theme. You can keep it pretty simple or you can go all out.

Items to decorate:

  • Rattles
  • Pacifiers
  • Bottles
  • Stuffed animals
  • Socks
  • Washcloths
  • Bibs
  • Bath toys

Let your imagination run wild, if you can tie it on, it will probably work.

This diaper wreath was made in about 2 hours. I took my time and was not in a hurry.

Suggestion:

  • I would also suggest laying your items in a circle around the wreath form so you can see about how you want your wreath to look.
  • Have your small ribbon cut for tying on diapers. Makes the process of putting diapers on easier.
  • If you are only adding larger items you can tie to diapers as you add them or you can tie to wire wreath frame between diapers after all diapers are on the form.
  • Use ribbon and double sided tape to attach all decorations. This makes it very secure for transporting and you do not need to worry about any pins to falling out at a later date. All items can be taken apart and used at a later date.
